What is Chiropractic, and How Can It Help My Horse?

Mobirise

Chiropractic therapy and techniques have existed for over 100 years. The main focus is on the health and proper function of the spinal column, but the pelvis, limbs, and head are also included. The basis of chiropractic is the subluxation, which is a misalignment of a bone or a joint that leads to reduced motion in the area. This can cause inflammation and pain, with

subsequent loss of normal function and interference with normal nerve transmission.
The chiropractor evaluates the horse by palpation and identifies areas of subluxation that may be causing pain and performance problems. A chiropractic adjustment is made, which involves the application of a controlled force applied in a specific direction to an anatomical structure to restore normal motion and function.
